Design Guidelines and Visual Assessment

JMLA offer strong expertise in city image planning. Our experience is holistic; covering landscape architecture, town planning and environmental management with the core focus on landscape assessment through a community-oriented process.

JMLA have built the practice around the principle of highly imageable city design and identity. We have undertaken substantial research in the last fifteen years through government research grants. We have investigated new and innovative techniques for creating outstanding public realms.

Fifty percent of our work is in rural and country areas, and our successful set-up shop consultation process has enabled us to develop a body of research related to community preferences, which we have been implementing in environmental design guidelines and in current construction projects.
