JMLA developed a Cultural precinct Masterplan for the town of Chinchilla over several years ,having undertaken extensive community consultation and site studies, and that plan is now being implemented.
The plans enliven the streetscape/public realms around the building precinct, and propose improvements to the library, art gallery and performing art venue. They also improve public access and services around the precinct. A unique aspect of the landscape masterplan is to create shade house like entries to each of the important buildings, featuring endemic vines and bush house plantings, a reminder of the traditional regional landscape of homesteads of the area.
