Sustainable Subdivisions
Sustainable subdivisions involve the creative allocation of land. This provides for emergent patterns of living as our population ages, as people migrate to the coast and as households diversify. The workplace is fragmenting and needs to be better tied to home. Climate change and peak oil together are forcing a radical change in the way our cities grow. Subdivisions become places which last for generations, so the designs of today need to be flexible enough to respond to change without destroying the landscape and place which attracted residents in the first place.
Ecovillage Design
